Ordinal Numbers
Ordinal number indicates the position of the object in an arrangements of objects.
For example months are arranged in a particular order in an year. So we can say that January is the first month and February is the second month. This first and second are the ordinal numbers for the months in the year.
When the objects are placed in order that is one after the other we use ordinal numbers to indicate the place of an object or a person
This arrangement shows ordinal numbers of the various objects.
In the figure below some objects are arranged in an order and an ordinal number has been given to each object
For example
is at second position
is at seventh position.
