Various Legislative Assemblies of Haryana

The first Legislative Assembly was formed in 1966. After that fourteen assemblies have been formed so far. The assemblies are discussed as follows:

First State Assembly (1-11-1966 to 28-02-1967)

  • First sitting of the Assembly took place on 6th December, 1966.
  • This was the smallest assembly of the state with just 54 members.
  • Chief Minister of this assembly was Bhagwat Dayal Sharma and Shanno Devi was Speaker.
  • Second State Assembly (17-03-1967 to 21-11-1967)

  • There were 81 members in this assembly.
  • First sitting of this assembly was held on 17th March, 1967.
  • Chief Minister of this assembly was Rao Virendra Singh and there were two speaker Shri Chand and later Manphool Singh.
